Look Mom, No Cavities

This week included a trip to the dentist for Taylor and Teresa. They both did great since they had no cavities. They took X-rays and we went over their future possibilities. Taylor appears to have her wisdom teeth but they are several years away from even being able to be taken out. Her teeth are fine and dandy.

Teresa is a whole different story. She doesn't appear to have any wisdom teeth and one of her back molars is missing on the bottom. The dentist said he had never seen it before. Since none of the set are in yet, it isn't anything we need to worry about right now but the dentist wanted to give me a heads up. Eventually we will either need to pull the one on top or put an implant in on the bottom. Something to look forward to...yippee!

I guess for now I can just be happy with their clean, shiny teeth.

Fantasy Football

While we were at Linda's house Saturday, we had our Fantasy Football Draft. It is always a good time because it is a close group of family and friends. My husband is the league manager for our league. He is involved with several leagues and really enjoys Fantasy Football. I suppose I should mention that I am probably the worst FF player ever since I know next to nothing about football players. Dan usually helps me draft by giving several names to choose from when it is my turn. Of course, since I won the league last year, some people felt I didn't deserve any help but he still did. Surprising since it was him I beat last year.

Here is our draft board.

Here we are having a grand time.

Massachusetts

This past weekend we were up in Massachusetts visiting with Dan's family. On Saturday we went up to New Hampshire to a shin-dig at his sister's house. They were celebrating her husband's 50th birthday. She surprised him with a singing group. They sang a bunch of songs from the 50's and were really cool.
I attempted to get a bunch of pictures but only managed to get a few good ones. By the time I tried to get all the grandkids together, one had left so I will try to find a picture of him and add it in.

Here is Ron enjoying the quartet

First Day Of School

I am a bit behind the times. Monday was Teresa and Taylor's first day of school. For Teresa this was her first day of High School. They both had a great day and for the most part are enjoying it so far.
Taylor is very interested in Culinary Arts and luckily, the high school has a culinary arts program that she is enrolled in. If she does well at it, her senior year she can work in an actual restaurant during the day for school credit. She would really enjoy that and is working hard to make sure she gets good enough grades to qualify.

Teresa is leaning towards the medical field when she gets older. The school doesn't have anything like the program Taylor is in for medical interests but they do offer Latin which she is very excited about taking. I hope she can handle it since Dan and I certainly don't have any way of helping her if she is struggling. Latin sure wasn't offered when I was in school. French or Spanish was it.

Jaquelyn and Rebecca are still up in Massachusetts with Dan but should be home later today. We will have several "first day of school" posts since they all start on different days. Jaquelyn starts next week after Labor day and Rebecca starts the week after that. Then I don't know what I am going to do with myself....several hours alone three days a week? ME TIME!

Sweet 16

Today is a BIG day in our family. Today is Taylor's 16th Birthday. We are in Massachusetts celebrating with Dan's family. Here are a few pictures of her opening up her presents. She received quite a few since Dan's Mom has a tradition of 16 presents on your 16th birthday. Most of them are small gifts but they are a lot of fun to open. She started out with $16.16 as gift #1.

Aviator sunglasses are her favorite and she loves necklaces like this.

Some new nail polish

A new shirt in a very pretty color.

Smile pretty Taylor.
The Pixar Short Films DVD that she has been wanting since Christmas.
She loves Betty Boop.
The Ipod she has been wanting. Thank goodness for Ebay. Can't beat the prices there. Brand new Ipod (1st Gen 2MB) 51.00

A new backpack/ purse for school, too cute.

A denim jacket that she can't wait to wear.

A Band t-shirt - The Used. Very Cool.

Wildwood, New Jersey

On Tuesday, I went to Wildwood, NJ with Teresa and Jaquelyn. We went with my friend Pam and her daughter Micayla. We had a lot of fun and the girls all enjoyed the rides. Jaquelyn is a bit timid when it comes to rides but they had plenty of young kid rides to keep her busy. Teresa and Micayla had a blast on the bigger rides like the rollercoasters and such. Unfortunately those rides don't have many photographic opportunities but I did my best.

If you listen closely, you can hear Jaquelyn screaming on the way down.

More From California

While we were there, we went to a nearby park and we took some great (in my opinion) pictures of Rebecca playing there.

Here she is showing Porter how to roll over

California

In May, Rebecca and I flew to California to go to my brother's graduation. It was pretty neat and we had a blast visiting out there. Here are a few pictures of us while we were there.

Here is Rebecca with my Mom's dog Porter.

Here I am with my Mom, her husband Jim, my brother Chris and Rebecca after the graduation ceremony.

And Still More Vacation Pics

Here we are at my other Aunt's house playing in her pool with my Mom and my cousin. She lives in the same county in Wisconsin.

More Vacation Pictures

Here is Rebecca ready to try waterskiing

Here is our annual jump off the dock.

This is the first year we let Taylor ride the jetski by herself. She was soooooo excited.

Our Vacation

Since we really aren't up to too much right now, I figured I would put together a few posts about our summer vacation. Every year around the 4th of July we drive to La Crosse, Wisconsin to spend time with my family there. We look forward to it all year and always have a terrific time. My Aunt lives on the Mississippi river and we spend our time playing on her dock, water skiing and jet skiing. I will probably break this up into several posts to make the pictures easier for me to handle.

Here is my husband with Becca floating around.

Here is Taylor on skis

Teresa skiing too.

And here I am skiing away.

Here is my dad floating with Jaquelyn and Rebecca. If you are wondering about the plastic cover on Jaquelyn's foot, she sliced her foot open the day before we left for La Crosse and ended up with 8 stitches on her foot. Not the best of beginnings for a water-filled vacation but she was pretty good about her limited activities and we did our best to give her some time in the water.

Slip & Slide

We are definitely a water loving family in the summer time. Here are some pictures of Jaquelyn and Rebecca playing on our Slip & Slide. They really had a blast.
